Job summary

Nakilat is seeking an HR professional to support marine personnel across vessels under its control. You will ensure qualifications, certificates, and development plans are in place, and manage the officer database, training scheduling, and recruitment screening.

The role requires a degree in Business Admin/HR and 3–6 years' experience in shipping or a related industry, with strong HR knowledge, world geography basics, and familiarity with port and airport hubs.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Maritime industry and legal requirements for sea staff employment
• Strong HR principles and practices knowledge
• Good knowledge of world geography including major ports and supporting airports

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an updated Relief Plan for officers up to one year in advance
• Organize travel arrangements for officers to join and leave vessels
• Ensure officers meet training/documentary requirements per company policies and ship registry laws
• Review appraisal reports and follow up on training needs and disciplinary matters
• Establish and monitor personal development plans for officers
• Coordinate with training section on scheduling courses for personnel
• Maintain applicant database and perform initial screening
• Maintain personnel and vessel files for salaries and records per policies
