Job summary

Galfar Engineering and Contracting W.L.L in Qatar seeks a Contracts Engineer to oversee pre and post-contract administration for data centre and MEP projects. You will focus on contract compliance, change management, cost control and final accounts to protect commercial interests.

Responsibilities include administering contracts, evaluating variations, managing EOT and claims, and ensuring timely notices and robust documentation; strong negotiation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of post-contract administration experience in construction projects, especially data centres or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience administering subcontract and main contract agreements under FIDIC or equivalent forms.

Responsibilities

• Contract administration: administer main contracts and subcontracts; monitor obligations and documentation.
• Variations: review, evaluate and prepare variation orders; track approvals and recovery.
• Cost control: monitor costs, prepare reports, forecasts and risk assessments.
• Claims & EOT: prepare EOT submissions, evaluate claims, and support dispute resolution.
• Payment Certification & Final Accounts: review monthly applications, prepare valuations and final accounts.
• Risk Management: identify risks and ensure notices are issued within timelines.
