Job summary

Galfar Al Misnad Engineering and Contracting W.L.L. in Qatar is seeking a Senior Contracts Engineer to lead pre and post-contract administration for data centre and MEP projects.

You will focus on contract compliance, change management, cost control, payment certification, claims handling, and final accounts to protect commercial interests. The role requires 10+ years of post-contract experience, familiarity with FIDIC forms, and strong negotiation and documentation skills for hyperscale

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of post-contract administration experience in construction.
• Experience in MEP, ELV, data centre projects, or mission-critical facilities.
• Experience administering subcontracts and main contracts under FIDIC or equivalent forms.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration and commercial management.
• Experience in variation management, claims preparation, EOT assessment, and final accounts.
• Good understanding of MEP systems and data centre construction activities.
• Proficiency in cost reporting and commercial documentation.

Responsibilities

• Administer main contracts and subcontracts throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, notices, and correspondence requirements.
• Maintain contractual records and documentation.
• Provide contractual advice to project teams and management.
• Review, evaluate, and prepare variation orders arising from design changes, client instructions, and site conditions.
• Assess commercial implications of changes and negotiate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Maintain variation registers and track approvals and recovery status.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets; prepare cost reports and forecasts.
• Support commercial decision-making through cost analysis and procurement reviews.
• Identify opportunities to maximize project profitability.
• Review and prepare Extension of Time submissions and associated cost claims.
• Evaluate subcontractor claims and contractual entitlements.
• Prepare supporting documentation for contractual claims and dispute resolution.
• Assist management in resolving commercial disputes and contractual issues.
• Review subcontractor monthly applications for payment; prepare interim valuations and payment recommendations.
• Monitor payment status and contractual cash flow; negotiate and close final accounts.
