Job summary

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) seeks a Rigging Supervisor to lead lifting operations on oil and gas projects in Qatar. You will assess loads, select rigging gear, and guide crane movements to ensure safe, compliant handling of heavy equipment and pipes up to large capacities.

The role requires a secondary certificate (ITI preferred) and 7 years of hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer sectors, plus a valid rigging certificate.

Qualifications

• Secondary (12 years) certificate; ITI preferred.
• 7 years relevant hands-on experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry.
• Valid Rigging certificate from competent and certified agency.

Responsibilities

• Check loads to be moved and estimate size, weight, and center of gravity.
• Attach lifting devices to hoisting equipment and items to be moved using clamps, hooks, bolts.
• Select proper slings and lifting gear, padding for sharp corners.
• Maintain vigilance for people/objects in the load path; use signals and radios as needed.
• Guide loads into position as they are lowered by cranes or winches.
• Move heavy equipment and pipes using cranes up to 500T capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Check loads to be moved, estimate size, shape, weight and center of gravity, and make sure that loads do not exceed lifting capacities of cranes.

• Attach lifting devices to hoisting equipment and items to be moved, using clamps, hooks, bolts, and knots

• Choose/Select the proper slings, lifting gears and other grappling devices, covering sharp corners with padding to prevent damage to slings.

• Continually alert for people, or objects which may come in the path of the load, where the load is not visible to crane or winch operators, hand signals, whistles or two-way radios are used.

• Guide loads into position as they are lowered.

• Lifting and shifting/moving Heavy equipment, large size pipes and control valves etc. with very large capacity cranes size up to 500T.

Qualifications:

• Secondary (12 years) certificate. Preferably ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate holder

• 07 years relevant and hands-on experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry and competency*

• Valid Rigging certificate from competent and certified agency
