Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in Mechanical or Welding Engineering or related field.
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2 (Welding Inspection) or AWS CWI or ASNT Level II mandatory.
• BGAS/NACE coating inspection certification.
• BOSIET/HUET offshore safety certification.
• 5+ years in oil & gas QC inspection; 3+ offshore shutdown experience.
• Familiarity with QatarEnergy (QP), Shell, or TotalEnergies standards.
• Proficient reading of P&IDs, isometrics, and ITPs.
• Knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance & Compliance: ensure activities meet specs and safety standards.
• Inspect piping, welding, valve fitting, and structural repairs per standards.
• Verify material certifications (MTCs), WPS/PQR, and NDT reports.
• Monitor bolt torquing, flange alignment, gasket installation.
• Witness welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW) per WPS.
• Review NDT results (RT/UT/MPI/PT) and approve/reject welds.
• Maintain ITRs, punch lists, NCRs; document QA data in SAP/ICAP.
• Ensure PTW, LOTO and confined space safety; coordinate with site team.

Job Title: QC Inspector Offshore Shutdown (Piping/Welding/NDT)

The QC Inspector ensures all mechanical, piping, and welding activities comply with project specifications, codes, and safety standards during offshore shutdowns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
• Inspect piping installations, welding, valve fitting, and structural repairs per ASME B31.3, API 570, and client standards (QP/Qatargas/Shell).
• Verify material certifications (MTCs), WPS/PQR, and NDT reports (RT/UT/MPI/PT).
• Monitor bolt torqueing, flange alignment, and gasket installation.
• Witness welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW) and ensure compliance with WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
• Review NDT (Radiography, Ultrasonic, Dye Penetrant) results and approve/reject welds.
• Maintain inspection test reports (ITRs), punch lists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
• Use SAP or ICAP systems for QA/QC documentation.
• Ensure PTW (Permit to Work), LOTO, and confined space safety protocols are followed.
• Coordinate with construction supervisors, engineers, and third-party inspectors.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Welding Engineering or related field.
• Certifications (Mandatory):
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2 (Welding Inspection), AWS CWI, or ASNT Level II (RT/UT/MPI/PT).
• BGAS/NACE (for coating inspection if applicable).
• BOSIET/HUET (Offshore Safety Certification).
• 5+ years in oil & gas QC inspection, with 3+ years offshore shutdown experience.
• Familiarity with QatarEnergy (QP), Shell, or TotalEnergies standards.
• Proficient in reading P&IDs, isometrics, and ITPs (Inspection Test Plans).
• Knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, and MS Office.

Market Wage in Qatar (2025):

• Daily Rate: $400/day (varies by certifications and project urgency).
• Junior QC Inspectors: $350/day (contractors).
• Senior QC Inspectors (CSWIP/ASNT Level III): $600day (QP/Qatargas projects).
