Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Purchasing Administrator in Doha, DAW, QA. The role is on-site to support the inflight services procurement, ensuring timely orders and cost-effective material supply for the catering unit.

You will coordinate with suppliers, maintain accurate order data, monitor stock levels, and prepare forecasting reports to support operations and inventory control within the catering division.

Qualifications

• University qualification with at least 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in medium/large flight catering is preferred.
• Knowledge of ordering/buying processes.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong Office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

Description

As a Purchasing Administrator in Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, you will support the line manager in purchasing activities for the inflight services, procuring high quality raw materials and other necessary materials. This role is essential for ensuring that the catering unit operates efficiently, cost effectively and in compliance with quality standards.

To achieve success in this role you will need to:

• Assist line manager in the preparation of purchase orders and ensure timely placement and delivery of orders.
• Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules and product specifications.
• Ensure accuracy of all data entered into the order system to ensure full, detailed, correct information and are timely sent to the suppliers.
• Maintain accurate record of purchases, pricing and other relevant data for internal use and audit purpose.
• Monitor and update all foreign shipping order details and communicate ETA (estimated time of arrival) to Purchasing Officer and Stores Department to ensure items are delivered timely to support operations needs.
• Update Vendor template in JDE system for supplier registration.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure that stocks are maintained at optimal level.
• Visit stores on regular basis to review stock level ensuring it’s in line with the business requirements.
• Prepare forecasting report for reordering purposes as per revenue and stock turnover.

Qualification

You should have at least have a University Qualification with minimum 3 years of job-related experience.

It is preferred if you have had experience in a medium/large flight catering.

• Essential Knowledge/experience of ordering/buying process
• Good oral and written communication skills in English language
• Effective presentation skills with the ability to influence
• Good knowledge of Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
