Job summary

Madre Integrated Engineering in Qatar is seeking a Mechanical Technician to carry out installation, inspection, and preventive maintenance of pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, and related equipment.

You will read mechanical drawings and P&IDs, perform alignments, bearing and seal replacements, and support shutdowns and commissioning while adhering to PTW and HSE procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Technician.
• Good hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment.
• Experience with pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, bearings, seals, and couplings.
• Knowledge of equipment alignment, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repair practices.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, and other rotating and static equipment.
• Assist in dismantling, inspection, repair, alignment, and reassembly of mechanical equipment.
• Perform bearing replacement, coupling alignment, seal replacement, lubrication, and equipment servicing.
• Identify mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs according to maintenance procedures.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, P&IDs, and technical documents.
• Use mechanical measuring and testing tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and alignment tools.
• Support shutdown, turnaround, commissioning, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Follow PTW, LOTO, JSA, toolbox talks, and applicable HSE procedures.

Diploma / ITI / Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Good hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of rotating and static equipment.

Experience with pumps, compressors, valves, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, and couplings.

Knowledge of equipment alignment, preventive maintenance, and mechanical repair practices.

Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.

Good understanding of Oil & Gas HSE requirements and safe working procedures.

Valid QID is required.

Relevant Oil & Gas certifications / site approvals will be an advantage.
