Job summary

Madre Integrated Engineering is seeking a skilled Gearbox Mechanic for full‑time, on‑site work in the oil & gas sector. You will perform inspection, maintenance, and overhaul of industrial gearboxes and related equipment to ensure reliability and safety.

Requirements include a Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering and hands‑on experience with gearboxes. Ability to read drawings and use precision tools is essential for accurate maintenance records and compliance with site safety rules.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI or technical qualification in mechanical engineering preferred.
• Hands‑on experience in maintenance/overhaul of industrial gearboxes.
• Good knowledge of gears, bearings, shafts, seals, couplings and lubrication.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial gearboxes and related mechanical equipment.
• Dismantle, clean, inspect, assemble, and test gearbox components.
• Inspect gears, bearings, shafts, seals, couplings, and housings for wear or damage.
• Carry out alignment, clearance checking, backlash measurement, and bearing replacement.
• Troubleshoot abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, oil leakage, and gearbox performance issues.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as per approved procedures.
• Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, vernier calipers, dial gauges, and feeler gauges.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and equipment specifications.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
• Follow all HSE, PTW, and site safety requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Gearbox Mechanic in the Oil & Gas industry.
  
• Diploma / ITI / Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance preferred.
  
• Hands‑on experience in maintenance and overhaul of industrial gearboxes.
  
• Good knowledge of gears, bearings, shafts, seals, couplings, lubrication, and alignment.
  
• Experience with rotating equipment maintenance is preferred.
  
• Experience in shutdown, turnaround, or plant maintenance projects will be an advantage.
  
• Ability to use mechanical tools and precision measuring instruments.
  
• Good troubleshooting and fault‑finding skills.
  
• Physically fit and able to work in demanding Oil & Gas environments.
  
• Immediate availability preferred.
