Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy in Doha, Qatar, seeks a Material Planning Specialist to develop and improve sustainable material management and planning. The role interacts with NOC and various stakeholders to manage SAP-based processes, warehouse workflows, and material movements.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in Oil & Gas, strong SAP/PALM experience, and fluency in English. This position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and proactive process improvement within a complex asset network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Material Management, Warehouse Ops, Logistics and related processes.
  • Minimum 10 years in Oil & Gas, preferably in Warehouse/Logistics/Materials Mgmt.
  • Proven experience with SAP and PALM software.
  • Strong MS Office skills; knowledge of Primavera is a plus.
  • Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Create processes and procedures to support maintenance material management and drive improvement.
  • Drive an incident-free environment by upholding safety culture.
  • Ensure positive HSE performance by personnel and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE legislation and company standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of maintenance material activities.
  • Provide first-level guidance to onshore and site personnel on material management.
  • Provide administrative support for onshore/site/offshore material movements.
  • Act as liaison with Warehouse to ensure material flow for repair/refurbishment and stock return.
  • Interface with Campaign/Shutdown and Base operation Material Coordinators for tracking.
  • Interface with Warehouse to ensure storage and preservation of materials.
  • Coordinate with Contractors to manage special tooling and turbine kits.
  • Support repair processes and may involve local vendor visits.
  • Serve as focal point for QA/QC material status with Technical Materials Administrator.
  • Participate in maintenance material management/Warehouse audits.
  • Coordinate certification/document management using NOC processes.

Material Planning Specialist
Job Purpose

Main actor on the contribution to the development and improvement of sustainable system for material management and Planning The position will be interfacing with other entities within the NOC. He will be the representative on the management and improvement of the work process developed through SAP System, including communication with the Warehouse and others stakeholders within the M&I organization

Your main duties
  • Responsible to create processes and procedures to support maintenance material management and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • * Responsible for ensuring positive HSE performance by personnel, contractors and others working under the influence of the position.
  • * Ensuring compliance with HSE legislation, company standards and procedures under the area of responsibility to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and responsible environmental attitude.
  • * Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of all Maintenance material management activities, processes and procedures.* Provide first level specialist advice and guidance to onshore and Site / offshore personnel on the management / movement of Maintenance related materials.
  • * Provide administrative support to onshore / Site / offshore personnel on the management / movement of Maintenance related materials.
  • * Act as focal, in liaison with Warehouse personnel, to ensure continuous flow of materials / equipment for repair / refurbishment and return to stock / offshore.
  • * Liaise with Maintenance stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient management of materials.
  • * Interface with the Campaign / Shutdown & Base Operation Material Coordinators to ensure efficient tracking / bagging and tagging of materials.
  • * Interface with Warehouse personnel to ensure robust material management and storage / preservation of Maintenance related materials.
  • * Interface with Warehouse personnel / Contactors to ensure adequate management, refurbishment / replenishment and storage of Special Tooling, Turbine Kits etc.
  • * Support the repair process for Maintenace related equipment, which may include visits to local vendor workshops and warehouses.
  • * Act as focal for QA / QC material status / issues in liaison with the Technical Materials Administrator (TADM).
  • * Participate, as appropriate, in Maintenance material management / Warehouse audits.
  • * Ensure all related certification / documentation is coordinated and managed / stored effectively utilising NOC Document management processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience and strong knowledge of Material Management, Warehouse Operations, Logistics, and associated business processes.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferable in a Warehouse, Logistics, or Materials Management environment.
  • Proven experience working with computerized maintenance management systems such as SAP and PALM.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other business applications.
  • Good understanding and practical knowledge of Primavera planning and scheduling tools.
  • Sound understanding and application of industry process safety standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance processes, inventory control, material planning, and warehouse management practices.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, organizational, and coordination skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of computer literacy.
