Job summary

SPIE Global Services Energy Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar seeks a Maintenance Planning Engineer Mechanical (M/F) on a fixed-term contract. Responsible for planning daily maintenance activities to maximise equipment reliability and reduce downtime, with strong emphasis on right-first-time performance.

Requires SAP maintenance module expertise (SAP S4HANA), including order planning, service entries, procurement, and master data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Engineering degree (12+4 years) in Mechanical.
• 10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry and competency*
• Hands‑on experience of the Work order part of EAM module of SAP would be preferable.
• Competency and work experience in ERP – SAP, preferably in SAP S4‑HANA including Maintenance related Master data creation, master data updating, master data deletion etc in SAP.
• Strong technical background and maintenance field experience.
• Experience in daily maintenance planning.
• SAP ( Master data- Establishment PM plans, creation of equipment, Functional location, BOM, Material Catalogue).
• Experience in technical evaluation and spare parts management.
• Experience in contract establishment.

We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Global Services Energy Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a :

MAINTENANCE PLANNING ENGINEER MECHANICAL

• Prime responsibility for carrying out the planning of daily maintenance activities with primary responsibility to ensure ‘right-first-time’ job performance so that equipment reliability is maximized, while improving maintenance ‘tool time’ ,’work quality’ by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor and non-labor resources including materials and services.
• The role is expected to be able to remove uncertainty to execute planning in a systematic, efficient and economical way with forecasted maintenance job planning approach.
• He or she should be able to independently develop cost and time estimates of planned maintenance work to meet budgets and schedules.
• Planning Engineer shall have Competency and work experience in SAP Maintenance module, preferably in SAP S4-HANA including order planning, Purchase requisition, service entry sheets, call-off orders, service orders, Maintenance related Master data creation, updation, deletion etc.

Routine maintenance job planning

• Establish, maintain and improve the Maintenance Plans within the area of responsibility
• Develop equipment preventive maintenance schedule.
• Based on the daily new work request from production, Planning engineer shall prepare detailed activity break up along with the estimation of required resources for the job i.e. internal and external manpower, materials and services.
• Preparing work pack for each work order.
• Coordinate and review the work plan for assigned maintenance activities; review and evaluate planned work, methods , procedures and oversee spare parts inventory.

Contract Handling

• Participate in maintenance contracts handling including scope development, specifications, initiating procurement process, technical evaluation and provide support to superiors for management approval process as and when required.
• Day to day coordination with contractors to supply manpower and/or services based on requirement during daily work order planning.
• Verify and process the invoices submitted by the contractor.

Spares and Materials management

• Communicate and Co-ordinate with end-users to ensure spares and materials are made available by Planning Engineers for schedule activities. Also provide feedback to MRP so that cost-effective replenishment levels are maintained.
• Updating the item master including item specifications, Bill of Material, Spare Parts Criticality and new item codes in ERP as and when required.
• Responsible for the Periodic Inventory review & Changes in the buffer stock levels with the coordination of end-users.
• Co-ordinate with Supply Chain department and Contractors for procurement of spares to ensure the availability.

Profile

Bachelor’s Engineering degree (12+4 years) in(Mechanical )

10 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Fertilizer industry and competency*

Hands‑on experience of the Work order part of EAM (enterprise asset maintenance) module of SAP would be preferable. Competency and work experience in ERP – SAP, preferably in SAP S4‑HANA including Competency and work experience in Maintenance related Master data creation, master data updating, master data deletion etc in SAP.
