Job summary

Dietsmann, located in Doha, Qatar, seeks a maintenance engineering professional with hands-on field experience to support maintenance build and readiness for oil & gas assets. The role collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Reliability and Inspection teams to hand over complete, executable maintenance setups.

The successful candidate has 5–10 years in oil & gas maintenance, strong familiarity with P&IDs, datasheets, and CMMS tools, plus solid reporting and planning capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in maintenance engineering within oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical or similar process industries
• Strong hands-on field maintenance experience with rotating, static and/or mechanical equipment
• Practical experience in Maintenance Build, Maintenance Readiness or Operational Readiness
• Sound knowledge of criticality assessment, maintenance strategy development, condition monitoring, lubrication planning, isolation requirements and spare parts optimisation
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment datasheets, vendor manuals and GA drawings
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills; good command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with SAP PM or other CMMS, greenfield/brownfield projects, and RCM, FMEA/FMECA or RBI is a strong asset

Responsibilities

• Develop and review Equipment Criticality Assessments based on operational risk and business impact
• Build and optimise Maintenance Programs using OEM recommendations, existing Maintenance Work Instructions, reliability studies and field experience
• Develop On-Condition Monitoring plans, defining monitoring techniques, parameters and frequencies
• Prepare Maintenance Plans including strategies, task lists, frequencies, manpower and durations
• Perform lubrication studies and develop lubrication plans (points, lubricants, frequencies, methods)
• Develop and review Spading Books and maintenance isolation requirements with Operations and Maintenance teams
• Write and review Maintenance Work Instructions, making sure tasks are practical and executable
• Identify and validate critical spare parts, consumables, tools and special maintenance requirements
• Review P&IDs, datasheets, vendor documentation, GA drawings and maintenance manuals to define maintenance requirements
• Analyse historical SAP work-order data to optimise task durations and maintenance campaigns
• Support Base Operations and Campaign maintenance planning and task optimisation
• Validate maintenance strategies against actual field conditions before asset handover
• Ensure all deliverables are technically accurate, traceable and aligned with client requirements

Your role

Located in Doha in Qatar, you will support Maintenance Build and Operational Readiness activities for oil & gas assets. Combining hands-on field maintenance experience with maintenance strategy development, you will make sure every asset is handed over with a complete, practical and executable maintenance set-up. You will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Reliability and Inspection teams.

What you bring
