Job summary

Minor Hotels is seeking a Patrol Boat Skipper for Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara. The role requires experience steering boats, handling transfers, and ensuring guest safety.

You will manage trip setups, maintain equipment, and coordinate crews and meals while adhering to maritime regulations. The position emphasizes strong English communication, technical aptitude, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic resort environment.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as Patrol Boat Skipper.
• Oil Carrier Certification required.
• 2–5 years in the same field preferred.
• Good English communication skills.
• Good technical skills.
• Pleasing personality with a positive attitude.
• Ability to handle pressure and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Oversee transfers and boat operations; check schedules for next day.
• Know trip details: guests, names, special requirements.
• Prepare boat setup per trip and procedures.
• Ensure supplies (towels, beverages, seasick bands) for each trip.
• Provide raincoats and towels during rainy season.
• Follow checklists and resort procedures.
• Coordinate meals for crew if missed on a trip; arrange food.
• Ensure meal costs align with management-approved prices.
• Boat cleaned and ready 30 minutes before trips with crew.
• Maintain grooming and uniform standards for all staff.
• Prioritize guest comfort and safety on all trips.
• Follow maritime laws and ensure Sea Worthy certificate is onboard.
• Carry Captain’s License during all trips.
• Inspect and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Coordinate maintenance with engineering and report until resolved.
• Maintain and install anchors and navigational lights.
• Take precautionary measures to avoid risks and ensure safety equipment is functional.
• Assess weather to decide trip feasibility and inform supervisor.
• Carry onboard mobile phone and ensure it is charged.
• Ensure onboard radio is working.
• Prioritize guest and crew safety at all times.
• Coordinate communications between airport hosts and Resort operators.
• Report crew disciplinary issues as needed.
• Attend designated training programs.
• Promote resort services to guests and stakeholders.
