Job summary

Experience is seeking an senior geotechnical engineer to supervise geotechnical construction activities, review submissions and witness ground-improvement works on major projects in the Middle East. You will monitor groundwater, inspect earthworks and coordinate across engineering teams to ensure compliance with standards.

Candidates require 20+ years post-graduate experience with 10+ years in geotechnical or soil-improvement roles, and a Civil Engineering degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• 20+ years post-graduate experience, with 10+ years in geotechnical/soil-improvement roles.
• Experience in the Middle East; consultancy background and supervision of major works.
• Knowledge of sabkha, marine sand ground conditions and ground-improvement techniques.
• Professional registration or chartered status preferred; MME certification required for deployment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise geotechnical construction activities on behalf of the Engineer.
• Review contractor submissions: Factual/Interpretative reports, method statements, ITPs, submittals, risk assessments.
• Witness ground-improvement works and verify bearing capacity and settlement control.
• Review groundwater conditions and dewatering proposals; monitor testing and sampling.
• Inspect earthworks, grading, engineered fill and compaction; maintain records.
• Coordinate geotechnical activities with roads, drainage, structures and QA/QS teams.
• Raise and track site observations and non-conformance reports; ensure close-out of actions.
• Assist with as-built review and handover of geotechnical works.
