Job summary

Chedi Hospitality in Doha is seeking a Laundry Attendant to manage daily washing, drying and finishing of hotel linens and guest garments. You will sort by fabric type, ensure cleanliness, and maintain proper records of items processed and distributed.

Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety, inspect items for damage, and assist with stock levels and inventory. A reliable team player with basic English is welcomed to join our housekeeping team in a busy hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or equivalent preferred.
• Language: Basic to good English; extra languages a plus.
• Experience: Hotel laundry experience preferred but not essential.
• Skills: Basic laundry equipment knowledge and garment care.
• Competencies: Detail-oriented, clean, team player, reliable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily washing, drying, ironing, pressing, folding and sorting of hotel linen, uniforms and guest laundry.
• Ensure all linen and garments are clean, fresh, stain-free and handled with care.
• Sort laundry by fabric type, color and washing requirements; record and distribute items.
• Inspect for stains or damage and report to Laundry Supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized laundry areas and equipment.
• Report malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs immediately.
• Assist with linen inventories and stock levels; handle lost and found items.
• Support other housekeeping and laundry operations as required.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and departmental procedures.

Key Areas of Responsibility

1. Laundry Operations

• Carry out daily washing, drying, ironing, pressing, folding, and sorting of hotel linen, uniforms, and guest laundry according to established standards.
• Ensure all linen, uniforms, and guest garments are clean, fresh, stain-free, and handled with proper care.
• Sort laundry according to fabric type, color, washing requirements, and established procedures.
• Ensure all incoming and outgoing linen, uniforms, and guest laundry are properly recorded and distributed.
• Inspect items for stains, damage, or poor condition and report any concerns to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Maintain laundry areas, storage areas, equipment, and workstations in a clean and organized condition.
• Report any malfunctioning laundry equipment or maintenance requirements immediately.
• Assist with linen and uniform inventories and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Handle lost and found items according to hotel procedures.
• Support other Housekeeping and Laundry operations when required.

2. Quality & Cost Control

• Use laundry chemicals, water, energy, and supplies responsibly to minimize waste.
• Handle linen, uniforms, guest garments, machines, and equipment carefully to prevent loss or damage.
• Follow established procedures for linen and uniform control.

3. Policies, Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain high standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and professional conduct.
• Follow all departmental SOPs, hotel policies, and laundry procedures.
• Follow correct chemical handling, health and safety, fire, and emergency procedures.
• Immediately report hazards, accidents, damages, or unsafe conditions.
• Attend required briefings, meetings, and training sessions.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or Laundry Manager.
