Job summary

ENNISMORE is seeking a dedicated Laundry and Uniforms Assistant to oversee the smooth operation of the laundry, linen and uniform processes within the hotel. You will ensure accurate record-keeping, timely guest service and adherence to hotel standards.

In this role you will retrieve, launder, press and deliver guest and staff garments, manage uniforms for new hires, coordinate with contract laundry, and maintain clean work areas while reporting any defects to the supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve, inspect and deliver guest laundry and dry cleaning from front desk, guest rooms or housekeeping, washing and pressing as needed.
• Maintain written records of all dry cleaning and laundry with guest name, room, garment count and special needs.
• Prepare and wash linens and guest laundry for collection.
• Prepare and record guest bills and forward to Housekeeping Office Coordinator.
• Answer guest inquiries promptly and professionally and relay details to the Supervisor.
• Liaise with contract dry cleaning company and report losses or damages.
• Check accounts from contract laundry and verify against invoices.
• Break down invoices and input into the finance tracking system.
• Polish and return guest shoes to rooms.
• Assist with inventory of uniforms and linen.
• Wash and iron guest laundry and hotel linen as needed.
• Prepare, assign and alter uniforms for new employees.
• Ensure linen is separated, counted and stored correctly.
• Issue and collect uniforms as needed.
• Prepare and record invoices for staff uniforms.
• Receive and sort staff uniforms into correct departments.
• Assist with monthly linen stock.
• Sort and fold towels.
• Maintain clean work areas and report defective materials and equipment.

Under the general guidance of the Executive Housekeeper or any other authorized by the management, ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Laundry and Uniform Issue areas in accordance with the hotel standards.

Ensure internal and external guests of the hotel are treated fairly and consistently in a timely manner, receiving high quality personalized service and an engaging dynamic guest experience.

How your day looks like

• Retrieve, inspect and deliver all guest laundry and dry cleaning from front desk, guest rooms, and or housekeeping staff, washing and pressing according to guest need.
• Maintain written records of all dry cleaning and laundry given to contract laundry stating guest’s name, room, and full description of garments including count and any special needs.
• Prepare, sort and wash all linens, guests laundry and dry cleaning for collection.
• Prepare and record all guests bills and forward to Housekeeping Office Coordinator.
• Answer guest inquiries related to laundry and dry cleaning in a timely and professional manner and communicate details to Supervisor.
• Liaise with dry cleaning company on guests laundry items, communicate any losses, damages, and items not cleaned.
• Check all accounts received from the contract laundry and verify records against invoices.
