Job summary

KEO International invites a skilled Civil Inspector to join our team in Qatar on drainage infrastructure projects. You will support secondment to our major client, conducting site inspections, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications and safety standards, and coordinating with contractors and engineers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Attend to Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the Contractor and take timely action.
• Inspect drainage and civil works for compliance with drawings, specs, contract requirements and codes.
• Review shop drawings and technical submissions for discrepancies.
• Monitor quality and progress; report non-compliances.
• Conduct regular site inspections of drainage construction activities (excavation, trenching, pipe laying, manholes, house connections, backfilling).
• Coordinate drainage with existing utilities and other disciplines.
• Supervise drainage networks and house connection works.
• Support supervision of microtunnelling, pipe-jacking and pressure-main works.
• Maintain records and prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Civil Inspector to join our team based in Qatar, supporting our drainage infrastructure projects and working on secondment to a major client.

We envisage success in this role to include;

• Attending to Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the Contractor and taking appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Inspecting drainage and civil works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, local codes and relevant standards.
• Reviewing shop drawings and technical submissions and identifying any discrepancies or non-compliance.
• Monitoring the quality and progress of works and reporting any activities that do not comply with approved drawings, specifications or contractual requirements.
• Conducting regular site inspections and monitoring drainage construction activities, including excavation, trenching, pipe laying, manhole construction, house connections, backfilling, dewatering, temporary works and road reinstatement.
• Monitoring drainage and utility interfaces and ensuring effective coordination with existing services and other disciplines.
• Supervising and inspecting drainage networks and associated house connection works, ensuring proper installation and compliance with project requirements.
• For relevant assignments, supporting the supervision of microtunnelling, pipe-jacking and pressure-main works, including associated excavation, temporary works and machinery setup.
• Monitoring site activities for compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements and reporting any concerns to the relevant stakeholders.
• Maintaining accurate records of daily site activities, inspections, progress and photographs.
• Preparing surveillance reports and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) where required.
• Ensuring effective coordination between civil, drainage, utility and other discipline-related works.
• Providing technical input and practical site experience to support the resolution of construction issues.
• Liaising with the Contractor, Engineer and client representatives to ensure works are completed in accordance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering: minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in supervision of civil construction projects.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering: minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience in supervision of civil construction projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in drainage, sewerage, utilities or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong practical experience in underground drainage and utility works, including excavation, trenching, pipe laying, manholes, house connections, backfilling, dewatering and road reinstatement.
• Experience working around existing utilities and managing site interfaces.
• Experience in microtunnelling, pipe-jacking and/or pressure-main works is an advantage.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, inspection procedures and quality requirements.
• Good communication, reporting and coordination skills.
• Experience working within a client/consultant/contractor site environment.
