Job summary

KEO International Consultancy in Doha, Qatar, seeks a seasoned Quality Engineer to monitor and support QA/QC across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specs, procedures, and standards. You will review QA/QC systems, procedures, ITPs, material submittals, and non-conformances; lead audits; support corrective actions; and report quality performance to the QA/QC Manager.

  • 10+ years total experience with minimum 7 years in a similar Quality Engineering role.
  • Proven experience in roads, highways, expressways or related infrastructure projects.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Valid Qatar Engineering License / UPDA registration.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC systems, inspections, testing, audits and NCRs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in review/approval of Contractor QA/QC systems, QA Plans, ITPs and related docs.
  • Monitor Contractor QA/QC procedures against project specs and contractual requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections, quality surveillance and audits to identify non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
  • Review material submittals, method statements, test results and quality-related docs.
  • Support development/implementation of quality monitoring programs and audit findings.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented Quality Engineer to join our award-winning team based in Doha, Qatar.

This position will be responsible for monitoring and supporting the implementation of quality assurance and quality control requirements across construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, approved procedures, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.

We envisage success in this role to include:

  • Assisting in the review and approval of the Contractor’s QA/QC systems, Quality Plans, procedures, Inspection and Test Plans, and related quality documentation.
  • Monitoring the Contractor’s compliance with approved quality procedures, project specifications, drawings, and contractual requirements across site activities.
  • Conducting regular site inspections, quality surveillance, and audits to identify non-conformances and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Reviewing and monitoring the Contractor’s inspection, testing, sampling, and quality control activities.
  • Reviewing Contractor quality submissions, including material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, test results, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Supporting the QA/QC Manager in implementing and maintaining effective quality management systems and procedures throughout the project.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of quality monitoring programs, inspection plans, testing requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting the investigation, documentation, and close-out of non-conformances, deficiencies, and quality-related issues.
  • Assisting with internal and external quality audits and monitoring the implementation of audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Coordinating with the project team, Contractor, and relevant stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are clearly understood and consistently implemented.
  • Providing regular reports and updates to the QA/QC Manager on quality performance, inspections, audits, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
  • Promoting best-practice QA/QC procedures and supporting continuous improvement across construction activities.
  • Assisting in ensuring that materials, workmanship, testing, and construction processes comply with approved project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections, testing, audits, non-conformances, and other quality-related activities.
  • Supporting contract administration and other project quality-related activities as required.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include more than 10 years of total experience, including a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in a similar Quality Engineering role, partnered with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

You will also have:

  • Proven experience in roads, highways, expressways, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong experience in construction QA/QC, quality assurance systems, inspections, testing, audits, and quality documentation.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor certification.
  • Valid Qatar Engineering License / UPDA registration.
  • Good knowledge of quality management systems, construction specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, material approvals, testing requirements, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Experience working with Contractors, Consultants, Clients, and project stakeholders on major infrastructure projects.
  • Strong reporting, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience on Ashghal projects in Qatar would be an advantage.
