Job summary

voco Doha Central seeks an Information Technology Specialist to join a pre-opening hotel team, delivering reliable IT support for hardware, software, network, and guest-facing systems.

You will assist with installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hotel IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless guest experiences and compliant security standards during go-live.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in IT hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with hospitality systems (PMS, POS) is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and system issues.
• Assist with setup, configuration, and maintenance of hotel IT infrastructure and equipment.
• Support hotel systems including PMS, POS, Wi-Fi, IPTV, telephony, and back-office apps.
• Monitor system performance and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain user accounts, access permissions, and IT asset inventories.
• Assist with backups, software updates, and security procedures.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance and support.
• Ensure compliance with tech standards, policies, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain records of support requests, configurations, and IT documentation.
• Support pre-opening technology projects and system implementations.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Providing first-line technical support for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
• Assisting with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of hotel IT infrastructure and equipment.
• Supporting hotel systems including PMS, POS, Wi-Fi, IPTV, telephony, and back-office applications.
• Monitoring system performance and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
• Maintaining user accounts, access permissions, and IT asset inventories.
• Assisting with system backups, software updates, and security procedures.
• Coordinating with vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance and support.
• Ensuring compliance with IHG technology standards, policies, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintaining accurate records of support requests, system configurations, and IT documentation.
• Supporting pre-opening technology projects and system implementations.

What We Need From You

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration role, preferably within hospitality.
• Knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with hospitality systems such as PMS and POS is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• A proactive and service-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
