Job summary

The International School of London Qatar is seeking a Middle School Physical & Health Education teacher to deliver engaging MYP lessons that promote physical literacy, wellbeing, and inclusive participation.

You will use inquiry-based, concept-driven methods aligned with IB MYP, plan differentiated learning, and collaborate with colleagues to support student growth and wellbeing across diverse abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Physical & Health Education, Sports Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Recognised teaching qualification or certification appropriate to the role.
• Relevant teaching experience with Middle School or secondary-aged students.
• Strong understanding of physical education pedagogy, curriculum planning, and student assessment.
• Ability to teach a broad range of individual and team sports, fitness activities, and physical education programmes.
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and appropriately challenging MYP Physical & Health Education lessons.
• Provide a balanced programme incorporating individual and team sports, indoor and outdoor activities, fitness, and health education.
• Develop students' physical literacy, movement competence, coordination, tactical awareness, and understanding of healthy lifestyles.
• Apply inquiry-based and concept-driven teaching approaches aligned with IB MYP requirements.
• Integrate MYP Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including communication, collaboration, self-management, and reflection.
• Differentiate teaching and activities to support students with varying abilities, confidence levels, and learning needs.
• Promote teamwork, leadership, resilience, sportsmanship, and lifelong participation in physical activity.
