Job summary

GETC GROUP is seeking a hands-on Workshop Supervisor for our on-site garage in Qatar. You will oversee daily workshop operations, plan workloads for mechanics and technicians, and ensure timely servicing, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

You will maintain records, manage inventory, and coordinate with drivers to address faults and maintenance needs. The role requires a Diploma/ITI in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years in garage operations, and supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI/Technical qualification in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in vehicle workshop/garage operations.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
• Experience with heavy vehicles/trucks/buses or fleet vehicles is advantageous.
• Valid Qatar driving license is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of the garage and workshop.
• Plan and assign work to mechanics, technicians, electricians, and other garage staff.
• Monitor servicing, repair, maintenance, and inspection of company vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and ensure proper corrective action.
• Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed on time.
• Inspect completed repair work and ensure vehicles are safe for operation.
• Maintain records of vehicle servicing, repairs, spare parts, and maintenance history.
• Coordinate with drivers regarding vehicle faults and maintenance requirements.
• Monitor the availability and proper use of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Control workshop inventory and request spare parts and materials when required.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and organization of the garage/workshop.
• Enforce HSE, safety, and company procedures within the workshop.
• Ensure technicians use PPE and follow safe practices.
• Monitor workshop productivity, repair turnaround time, and manpower utilization.
• Coordinate with external garages and suppliers for specialized repairs.
• Prepare daily/weekly maintenance reports for management.
• Control maintenance costs and minimize unnecessary repair expenses.
• Ensure vehicles comply with inspection and road-safety requirements.
• Train, guide, and evaluate garage staff performance.
• Report major defects and maintenance issues to management.

Requirements

• Diploma or ITI/Technical qualification in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in vehicle workshop/garage operations.
• Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
• Experience with heavy vehicles, trucks, buses, construction equipment, or fleet vehicles is an advantage.
• Good leadership, communication, planning, and problem‑solving skills.
• Qatar/GCC garage or fleet-management experience preferred.
• Valid Qatar driving license is an advantage.

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
