Job summary

Rheinmetall Barzan Advanced Technologies QSTP-LLC in Qatar seeks a Finance Controller to own the integrity of financial records and be the backbone of a growing finance and commercial function. This hands-on role covers the close, IFRS compliance and reporting, and leads the external audit end-to-end, while partnering on pricing, bids and contract reviews. You will coach and develop the accounting team to ensure clean books year-round.

Qualifications

• Requires professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ACA or CIMA).
• Strong IFRS knowledge and hands-on ERP experience.
• Proven track record leading external audits.
• Commercial acumen with cost/margin insights for bids/prices.
• Experience in defence/engineering projects and GCC/Qatar exposure welcome.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close and general ledger integrity.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and statutory financial statements.
• Lead external audit end-to-end and deliver timely outcomes.
• Oversee internal controls, group reporting, and tax compliance in Qatar.

RBAT, a Rheinmetall joint venture delivering advanced defence and technology capabilities in Qatar, is looking for a Finance Controller to own the integrity of our financial records and be the technical backbone of a growing finance and commercial function.

This is a hands-on, broad role for someone who can keep the books accurate and audit-ready year-round — not just at year-end. You'll own the close, financial control, IFRS compliance and reporting, and lead our external audit end-to-end. Beyond the core, you'll partner on the commercial side of the business — supporting pricing, bids and contract reviews with the cost and margin insight that underpins sound commercial decisions. You'll also coach and develop the accounting team, making financial integrity institutional rather than person-dependent.

What you'll own

• Month-end close, the general ledger, and a fully reconciled balance sheet
• IFRS compliance, technical accounting positions, and statutory financial statements
• End-to-end leadership of the annual external audit, delivering clean, on-time outcomes
• Internal controls, group/shareholder reporting, and Qatari statutory and tax compliance
• Project cost control, pricing support, and commercial input into bids and contract reviews
• Coaching and developing the accounting team

What you'll bring

• A professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA, ACA or CIMA)8+ years' finance experience, including a senior controller/reporting role
• A proven track record of leading external audits as client-side owner
• Strong, current IFRS expertise and hands-on ERP experience
• Commercial acumen — comfortable translating cost and margin analysis into pricing and bid decisions
• Meticulous, control-minded, and genuinely comfortable being the finance \"Swiss army knife\"
• Experience gained in a Big 4 audit firm — followed by a move into industry — is a strong advantage, as is experience in project-based, defence, engineering or contracting environments and GCC/Qatar exposure.
