Job summary

Merge Recruitment Agency seeks a Senior Accountant for a multinational services firm in Qatar. The role covers AP, PPE, GL, Inventory and Budget, ensuring IFRS-aligned accounting, fixed assets management, and treasury activities.

You will also guide junior staff and prepare accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate holds a Finance/Accounting degree, CMA/ACCA is preferred, with 6–8 years of experience using JDE-ERP, and strong English and Arabic communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• CMA or ACCA certification preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience with recognised firms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure fixed assets are recorded, valued, depreciated and disposed of per IFRS.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register.
• Ensure accuracy of records with supporting documents before entry.
• Oversee GL and treasury activities and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Coach and train junior accountants in the department.
• Review financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Enter invoices promptly and ensure payments follow policy.
• Support AP best practices and system improvements.
• Utilise JDE for recording, reconciliation and reporting.
• Ensure AP/AR monthly transactions are correctly posted to GL.

A multinational professional services organization serving global and national organizations Located in Qatar required for their Accounting & Finical services the following position:
Job Title:
Job Summary: Senior Accountant (AP, PPE, GL, Inventory and Budget)
Support the accounting functions of the department regarding GL, fixed assets register, and treasury management. the department regarding GL, fixed assets register, and treasury management.
Job Description:

• Ensure that CLIENT fixed assets are recorded, recognized, re-valued, depreciated, capitalized and disposed of in accordance with International Financial reporting Standards ('IFRS') as an off Balance Sheet item.
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register of CLIENT
• Make sure that all records are genuine, accurate and have supporting documents before recording in the accounting software.
• Organize and maintain the GL and Organizing and developing the treasury activities of the corporation.
• Coach, supervise and train the new Accountants who will join CLIENT finance department
• Review financial reports for internal and external vendor s
• Ensure that all invoices received are input into the system on a timely basis.
• Ensure all payments are authorized according to policies and procedures.
• Assists with the implementation of Accounts Payables best practices by recommending improvements to the AP section head.
• Use JDE for recording, reconciling and generating reports to the financial controllers and the Finance Manager in addition to assist the AP team in the daily recording process.
• Manages the process of ensuring that Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable monthly transactions are accurately transferred to the General Ledger and transactions reconciled.
• Leads the review process to ensure that the monthly transactions processed through Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable are accurately processed to the correct accounts.

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.

• Qualified professional degree preferred (e.g. CMA, ACCA)
• Minimum of 6-8 years' experience with recognized firms.
• Working knowledge of JOE-ERP system
• Highly numerate, with developed analytical skills using qualitative and quantitative data.
• Computer skills including proficiency in common word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation programmes.
• In-depth knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements, budgeting, fixed asset, amortization principles, depreciation, and leasing,
• Familiarity with bank cash management systems.

Should be bi-lingual with mastery of written and spoken Arabic and English
