NES Fircroft, a global engineering staffing leader, seeks an experienced Engineering Lead (Corrosion) for a major LNG project in Doha, Qatar. You will oversee all corrosion activities across EPC execution and ensure design deliverables meet project specifications, budgets, and schedules.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and extensive LNG/oil & gas experience, including materials selection and corrosion prevention programs. Onsite, long-term contract in Doha.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a corrosion/materials focus.
• 8+ years in corrosion engineering and 4+ years in Oil & Gas.
• Experience supervising EPC contractors and major LNG projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead corrosion engineering activities across EPC execution.
• Review design deliverables: corrosion prevention, coatings, CP, and chemical injection.
• Ensure contractor compliance with specs, standards, budget, and schedule.
• Provide leadership to contractors, vendors and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Support procurement, bid evaluations, and field commissioning.

Location: Doha, Qatar (100% Onshore)

Contract Type: Long-Term Contract

Work Schedule: 6 Days per Week

Rotation: 12 Weeks ON / 2 Weeks OFF

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Corrosion) to oversee and lead all corrosion engineering activities for a major LNG project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing EPC Contractor deliverables related to corrosion prevention, materials selection, coatings, cathodic protection, and chemical injection systems throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, and experience in LNG and Oil & Gas projects to ensure engineering deliverables meet project specifications, industry standards, budget, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all Corrosion Engineering activities throughout EPC execution.
• Manage and review design deliverables related to:
  • Internal Corrosion Prevention
  • Chemical Injection Systems
  • Metallic Materials Selection
  • Painting & Coating Systems
  • Cathodic Protection Systems
• Ensure EPC Contractor compliance with project specifications, procedures, and industry standards.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to contractors, consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Coordinate with Operations, SHEQ, Project Teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of engineering deliverables.
• Review corrosion design philosophies, material selection reports, and corrosion management plans.
• Support procurement and contracting activities, including technical bid evaluations and vendor assessments.
• Participate in field engineering activities, installation reviews, inspections, and commissioning support.
• Develop and implement best practices, lessons learned initiatives, and continuous improvement programs.
• Monitor EPC contractor performance to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective project execution.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Corrosion Science, Materials Engineering, or related discipline).

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of Corrosion Engineering experience
• Minimum 4 years within the Oil & Gas industry
• At least 1 year in a supervisory, lead, or oversight role
• Experience managing EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and service providers
• Previous experience on major LNG projects is highly preferred
• Experience with LNG and sour gas materials selection and corrosion prevention programs
• Previous Qatar project experience is highly desirable
