Job summary

Airswift is seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Process) in Qatar to head offshore topside process facilities for major LNG expansion projects. You will provide technical leadership across design, execution, and compliance, ensuring alignment with project specs and international codes.

Qualifications

Position: Engineering Lead (Process)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead (Process) to lead and oversee process engineering activities for major offshore LNG expansion projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of offshore topside process facilities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, industry regulations, and best engineering practices. This position plays a critical role in supporting the delivery of world‑class offshore facilities by coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, overseeing contractor performance, and ensuring engineering excellence from design through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Engineering Leadership: Lead all process engineering activities associated with offshore topside facilities and related onshore facilities within the offshore project scope. Provide expert technical guidance on process design, equipment selection, and engineering solutions to enhance safety, reliability, and operational performance. Ensure that engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, company standards, and applicable international codes and regulations.
• Contractor Management & Technical Assurance: Review, assess, and approve contractor process engineering deliverables and technical documentation. Verify compliance with contract requirements during engineering design execution. Manage technical queries, design clarifications, and engineering deviations as required. Support engineering reviews and ensure alignment with project objectives and operational requirements.
• Process Facilities & Equipment Oversight: Provide technical oversight for the engineering and design of offshore process systems and equipment, including: Test Separators, Pig Traps, Chemical Storage Tanks, Topside Process Systems, Offshore Pipelines, and Associated Process Equipment and Utilities.
• Engineering Planning & Project Support: Develop and monitor engineering deliverable schedules to support effective project execution. Ensure timely completion of process engineering activities in line with project milestones. Support the Offshore Engineering Manager in monitoring engineering progress and contractor performance across the project lifecycle.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control Systems (ICSS), Pipeline, Umbilicals, Loss Prevention, HSSE, Risk Management. Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure technical alignment and resolution of interface issues.
• Design Reviews & Risk Management: Participate in and support critical engineering reviews, including: HAZOP, SIL Assessments, LOPA, Value Engineering Workshops, Lessons Learned Reviews, Engineering Criticality Assessments, and 3D Model Reviews. Ensure recommendations are effectively implemented and actions are closed out in a timely manner.
• Interface & As‑Built Management: Manage engineering interfaces relating to process systems and equipment. Review site technical queries and red‑line markups. Support as‑built documentation development and project close‑out activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Knowledge and/or Experience.
• 8 years experience in Engineering roles, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including 1 years experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor/subcontractors/service/vendor personnel with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
• Experience managing contractors and third‑party vendors, in several phased of the projects, preferably done a complete project from FEED to Start‑up.
• Experience with risk assessment approach in decision making.
• Experience in technology adoption and implementation of continuous improvement.
• Experience working in large scale integrated operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
• SME level competency in at least one Engineering Discipline.
• Experience with sour service gas and LNG facilities (for Onshore) and large Offshore Platforms / Pipelines (For Offshore).
• Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
