Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology in Qatar is seeking a seasoned Corrosion Engineer to oversee design, QA, and field activities for LNG projects, ensuring compliance with standards.

You will coordinate with owners, contractors, vendors, and consultants, resolve complex corrosion issues, and support procurement and contracting, while promoting best practices and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Corrosion Science, Materials, or Engineering.
  • 8 years’ Corrosion Engineering experience, including 4 years in Oil & Gas.
  • 1 year in a supervisory/oversight role.
  • Major LNG project experience preferred.
  • Experience in LNG/sour gas materials selection and corrosion prevention preferred.
  • Qatar Corrosion Engineering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Corrosion Engineering, design, QA, and field activities.
  • Coordinate technical matters with owners, contractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Resolve complex corrosion issues and provide technical recommendations.
  • Support multidisciplinary engineering and project execution activities.
  • Implement best practices, lessons learned, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with project systems, procedures, standards, schedule, and cost.
  • Support technical procurement and contracting activities.
  • Monitor EPC contractors and third-party services through project execution.
  • Ensure construction meets approved scope, quality, and engineering requirements.

Oversees EPC Contractor delivery of corrosion engineering, materials, technical requirements, detailed design, procurement, and installation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and lifecycle production requirements through effective technical coordination and interfaces.
