Job summary

Al-hattab Group of Companies in Doha, DAW, QA, seeks a Contracts Engineer to support project teams, ensure compliance with FIDIC, NEC, and other forms, and protect contractual rights.

You will manage contracts, claims, variations, and commercial processes from tender to final account, coordinate with stakeholders, and help optimize project margins while complying with Qatar regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• 5-8 years of experience in contracts engineering/administration, preferably in Qatar or GCC.
• Strong knowledge of FIDIC (Red, Yellow, Silver Book), NEC, or other standard forms of contract.
• Experience in infrastructure, building, or oil & gas projects in Qatar preferred.
• Familiarity with Qatar construction law, regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Contract Administration & Management: draft, administer contracts incl. main contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements; advise on obligations and rights.
• Claims & Variations: identify, prepare, submit EOT, loss and expense, and variations; respond to subcontractor/supplier claims.
• Commercial & Financial: prepare interim/payment certificates, track budgets, cost reports, and cashflow forecasts.
• Risk & Dispute Management: identify risks; support dispute resolution; liaise with legal counsel.
• Stakeholder & Coordination: coordinate with project managers, site engineers, finance, and legal teams; attend progress meetings.
