Job summary

Alftek International in Doha seeks a Senior Contracts Advisor to lead the commercial and contractual management of a major infrastructure and building programme. The role covers procurement cost budgets, contracts, claims, disputes and partner agreements across the project portfolio.

You will oversee procurement, risk management, governance, and complex negotiations while coordinating with stakeholders to deliver commercial targets and timely variations.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil Engineering, QS, Commercial Management or Construction Management or equivalent (WHED-listed).
• Chartered status or professional licence from an internationally recognised institution (Quantity Surveying).
• 20+ years of practical and relevant experience, incl. 7+ years at senior level in large-scale infrastructure and building programmes.
• 10+ years of experience in North America, Western Europe, UK, Australia, New Zealand, or an equivalent developed country, or 10 years in Qatar.
• 7 years of experience in PMO or commercial department of a GCC government organisation.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the commercial and financial activities of the programme portfolio including procurement cost budgets contracts claims and agreements with key partners.
• Maximise commercial performance while managing project risk both pre-contract and post-contract.
• Handle the development and execution of diverse contractual actions to achieve optimal commercial outcomes in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with relevant commercial and contracting policies and the achievement of commercial targets.
• Resolve disputes and claims across the programme portfolio of projects.
• Embed effective commercial governance and assurance across the portfolio.
• Support the tender governance process.
• Lead complex contract negotiations including procurement administration and liquidation.
• Make impartial priority calls and determine the appropriate course of action across differing stakeholder views.
