Job summary

Linum Consult’s client in Doha, Qatar seeks a mid-level Claims Specialist for a 6-month contract. You will manage a small portfolio of construction claims, analyse contract documents, and develop defence strategies to protect commercial interests.

Immediate start preferred for a project-based assignment. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering, with 5+ years in claims/ QS roles within construction.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Law or similar.
• 5+ years in commercial management, QS or claims within construction/infra.
• Strong knowledge of standard forms (FIDIC).
• Excellent contract-writing with evidence-based narratives.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Based in Doha with immediate availability for a 6-month contract.

Responsibilities

• Conduct claims management by identifying, analysing, and evaluating potential and incoming contractual claims (extension of time, disruption, variations, and prolongation).
• Formulate robust claims defence strategies and narrative submissions to safeguard project commercial interests.
• Review and interpret complex contract documents to determine entitlement and liability.
• Collaborate with project controls and quantity surveyors on quantum and delay analysis aspects.
• Support senior management in negotiations, settlement discussions, and dispute resolution with clients and subcontractors.
• Prepare weekly/monthly claims tracking reports and executive presentations.

Linum Consult’s client is a major organisation based in the Middle East. They are urgently seeking a mid-level Claims Specialist with experience of managing a small portfolio of construction claims to join their team on a 6-month contract in Doha, Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducting claims management by identifying, analysing, and evaluating potential and incoming contractual claims (extension of time, disruption, variations, and prolongation)
• Formulating robust claims defence strategies and narrative submissions to safeguard project commercial interests
• Reviewing and interpreting complex contract documents and specifications to determine entitlement and liability
• Collaborating with project controls and quantity surveyors to substantiate the quantum and delay analysis aspects of claims
• Supporting senior management in commercial negotiations, settlement discussions, and dispute resolution processes with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Preparing clear, concise weekly/monthly claims tracking reports and presentations for executive review

PROFILE

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Law or similar subject
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial management, quantity surveying, or claims management within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering industry
• Excellent understanding of standard contract forms, such as FIDICStrong contractual writing skills with the ability to draft clear, evidence-backed narratives
• Analytical mindset with an eye for spotting contractual risks and opportunities
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English
• Currently based in Doha, and able to start immediately on a 6-month contract in August
