Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an experienced commissioning specialist for large oil and gas projects in Qatar. The role involves coordinating multi-discipline commissioning activities, supervising contractors, and supporting project handover to Operations. A strong background in E&I, mechanical, piping, and HVAC systems is required.

You will lead readiness reviews, ensure adherence to safety standards, and develop handover documentation while coordinating with PMT and vendors for successful startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or applied sciences required.
• 8+ years in oil and gas, with 3 years commissioning experience and supervision exposure.
• Experience with EPC projects, contractors, and vendors.
• Proficiency reading P&IDs, datasheets, and GA drawings.

Responsibilities

• Execute commissioning activities (Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, Piping, HVAC) to meet schedule and safety requirements.
• Lead handover readiness reviews and system acceptance with Contractor and Operations teams.
• Supervise contractor commissioning and ensure adherence to methodology and use of the system database.
• Prepare commissioning and handover documents, procedures, and check sheets.
• Lead daily meetings on handover deliverables and act as focal point for Quality, Engineering, Safety.

Job description

Participate in execution of commissioning activities (incl Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, Piping and HVAC) to achieve the commissioning schedule on target and in accordance with all safety requirements during SIMOPS Responsible for managing handover activities with Operations including RFC, RFSU readiness, Early deliverables and Commissioning activities Lead handover readiness reviews and system acceptance meeting with Contractor and Operation & Maintenance team Supervise the Contractor commissioning activities making sure the commissioning methodology is adhered to, and the system database is used properly Accountable for readiness of the commissioning spare parts and special tools for respective facilities Assist Head of Completion and follow system completion, walkdowns, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) for the respective facilities Coordinate the development of commissioning & handover documents, including procedures, method statements, and check sheets used during commissioning. Lead daily meetings with Contractor and Company department for all hand over deliverables. Act a focal point for Quality, Engineering, Safety and other company departments. Maintain a register of lessons learned for site and worksite and ensure lessons learned are applied within commissioning department. Ensure preventive maintenance plans are implemented during Commissioning activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor Degree in Applied Sciences or Engineering.
• 8 years' experience with large projects in Oil and Gas industry, including 3 years of commissioning experience with industrial engineer exposure (E&I, Mechanical, Piping) and 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, acting roles or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
• Knowledge in compliance with contract requirements including codes and standards, and contract technical specification compliance.
• Knowledge in projects execution, engineering, operations, pre-commissioning, commissioning and systems completion.
• Expert in reading P&IDs, Datasheets, General Arrangement drawings and procedures.
• Experience with vendors operating in the LNG industry, such as compressors, power generation, control systems, topsides, etc.
• Proven experiences for managing commissioning execution and completion and handover process including MC, RFC, RFSU and final Handover.
• Familiar with LOTO procedures and HSE standards for commissioning
• Experience of handling EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors.
• Experience in start-up support and handover to Operation.
• Experience in offshore environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
