The Commis I Pastry Chef at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. is responsible for assisting in the daily preparation, production, and presentation of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.

Working under the guidance of the Chef de Partie and senior pastry team, the role requires a good understanding of pastry techniques and the ability to execute routine tasks with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of pastry kitchen experience.
• Experience as Commis Pastry Chef or similar pastry production role preferred.
• Knowledge of pastry techniques including cakes, creams, fillings, doughs, tarts and desserts.
• Experience following standard recipes, portioning guidelines and food safety procedures.

Experience and Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, bakery, hotel, or restaurant.

Previous experience as a Commis Pastry Chef or in a similar pastry production role is preferred.

Basic to good knowledge of pastry and bakery techniques, including cake preparation, creams, fillings, doughs, tarts, and desserts.

Experience following standard recipes, portioning guidelines, and food safety procedures.

Basic knowledge of HACCP, food hygiene, proper storage, and stock rotation.
