Job summary

Westin Doha is seeking a Bar/Lounge Manager to oversee daily shift operations, supervise staff, promote the lounge, assist with menu planning, maintain standards, and manage liquor inventories and controls. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required for baseline education.
• 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel/Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 2 years F&B/related experience.

Responsibilities

• Implements beverage policy and procedures across the property.
• Manages compliance with local, state, and Federal beverage and liquor laws.
• Understands beverage control: days on hand, perpetual inventory, bar pars, costs controls, and end inventory.
• Monitors adherence to liquor control policies and procedures.
• Attends pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs.
• Reviews budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to support financial management.
• Participates in managing department controllable expenses to meet budget goals.
• Ensures compliance with Bar/Lounge policies, standards and procedures.
• Maintains food handling and sanitation standards.
• Manages inventories according to budget and business levels.
• Assists with developing menus and promotions as necessary.
• Trains staff on liquor control policies and procedures.
• Supervises staffing levels to ensure guest service and financial objectives are met.
• Ensures employees understand expectations and communicates critical information for events.
• Provides excellent customer service and resolves guest issues.
