Job summary

Qatar Foundation International is seeking a skilled Project Engineer to oversee and coordinate projects for Al Shaqab facilities. The role focuses on ensuring timelines, budgets, quality, and safety across civil, electrical, mechanical, and utilities scopes.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical or electrical engineering background with 2–5 years of project management experience, strong leadership, and excellent English communication skills; Arabic is a plus.

• Coordinate with in-house teams and contractors to deliver civil, electrical, mechanical, and utilities projects.
• Support the development and delivery of major projects, including cost estimation and scheduling.
• Assist in reviewing technical drawings, proposals, and plans to ensure alignment with operational needs.

Key Result Areas:

• Plan, coordinate, and implement projects related to Al Shaqab facilities in line with operational requirements
• Assist in preparing project specifications, scopes of work, and technical requirements
• Monitor and manage project execution to ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
• Coordinate with in-house teams and contractors to deliver civil, electrical, mechanical, and utilities projects
• Support the development and delivery of major projects, including cost estimation and scheduling
• Assist in reviewing technical drawings, proposals, and plans to ensure alignment with operational needs
• Track project progress and prepare regular reports for the Head of Operations & Maintenance
• Identify project risks and assist in developing mitigation plans in coordination with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations during project activities
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Engineer and other departments to minimize operational disruption during projects
• Support procurement processes by preparing technical inputs and reviewing vendor submissions
• Participate in site inspections, testing, and commissioning of completed works
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and contractors as needed

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 2-5 years of relevant full-time work experience, Proficient in project management
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills with experience leading, mentoring, and supporting teams
• Excellent program-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Excellent time management skills to meet tight deadlines and manage competing demands
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent spoken English skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
