Job summary

Swan Global is seeking a seasoned Planning Engineer for civil construction projects in Doha, Qatar. You will develop, monitor, and control complex project schedules to ensure on-time completion of all civil works, coordinating with site teams and subcontractors.

The role requires a 1-year contract (extendable) with long working hours, mastery of Primavera P6 and MS Project, and fluency in English to prepare baselines, look-ahead plans, and recovery strategies for management and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of proven Planning Engineer experience in civil construction.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (Primavera P6 / MS Project).
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly work progress and update schedules accordingly.
• Prepare baseline programs, look-ahead schedules, and recovery plans.
• Identify critical paths, analyze potential delays, and recommend corrective measures.
• Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors for smooth workflow.
• Generate reports and forecasts for management and client submission.
• Support project management in resource allocation, cost tracking, and risk mitigation.

Role Purpose

The Planning Engineer is responsible for preparing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules to ensure timely completion of all civil works. The role requires coordination with site teams, management, and subcontractors to align execution with project requirements and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using planning software (Primavera P6 / MS Project).
