A DataSmart, empresa portuguesa de consultoria em Tecnologias da Informação, procura um/Linux System Administrator para regime híbrido em Porto e Lisboa.

O candidato ideal tem 3+ anos de experiência em administração Linux, domínio de RHEL/Ubuntu, scripting (Bash/Python), conhecimento de redes, virtualização, cloud e automação com Ansible/Puppet/Chef/Terraform. Competências de documentação e comunicação são obrigatórias.

Qualificações

• 3+ anos (nível júnior a sênior) de administração Linux.
• Domínio de distribuições Linux como RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux ou Debian.
• Sólido entendimento de arquitetura/Kernel Linux, processos, serviços e gestão de pacotes.
• Experiência com scripting Bash; Python é uma vantagem.
• Conhecimentos de redes (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, VPNs).
• Experiência com virtualização (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V).
• Familiaridade com plataformas cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Ferramentas de automação/gestão de configuração (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Conhecimento de Docker e Kubernetes é um plus.
• Ferramentas de monitorização/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, ELK, Splunk).
• Práticas de CI/CD e DevOps.
• Boas práticas de segurança, hardening e gestão de vulnerabilidades.
• Backups, recuperação e alta disponibilidade.
• Fortes competências de resolução de problemas e comunicação.
• Disponibilidade para trabalhar em modelo híbrido em Portugal.
• Curso superior na área de IT e proficiência em inglês (mínimo B2).

Responsabilidades

• Instalar, configurar, manter e solucionar problemas de servidores Linux (físicos e virtuais).
• Monitorizar desempenho, disponibilidade e capacidade de sistemas.
• Gerir contas de utilizador, permissões e políticas de segurança.
• Realizar upgrades, patching e manutenção do SO.
• Configurar serviços de rede (DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS, VPN).
• Automatizar tarefas com Bash ou Python.
• Gerir armazenamento, backups e recuperação de desastres.
• Configurar e manter servidores web/app/db quando necessário.
• Resolver problemas de hardware/software/redes/SO.
• Implementar monitorização/logging (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Apoiar ambientes de virtualização e cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Gerir ferramentas de gestão de configuração (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Assegurar segurança com hardening e controles de acesso.
• Colaborar com DevOps, redes e segurança em projetos de infraestrutra.
• Criar documentação técnica e diagramas de arquitetura.

Join our team as a Linux System Administrator (Hybrid – Porto, Lisbon)!

What You’ll Do:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux servers (physical and virtual).
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal operation.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, and security policies.
• Perform system upgrades, patch management, and operating system maintenance.
• Configure and maintain networking services, including DNS, DHCP, SSH, NFS, and VPNs.
• Automate system administration tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Manage storage solutions, file systems, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
• Configure and maintain web servers, application servers, and database servers where required.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and operating system issues.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Support virtualization and cloud environments (VMware, KVM, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Manage configuration management and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Ensure system security by implementing hardening, vulnerability remediation, and access controls.
• Collaborate with DevOps, development, networking, and security teams to support infrastructure projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system architecture diagrams.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and on‑call support when required.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years (Mid) or 5+ years (Senior) of Linux system administration experience.
• Strong experience administering Linux distributions such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, CentOS, Rocky Linux, or Debian.
• Solid understanding of Linux system architecture, kernel, processes, services, and package management.
• Experience with Bash scripting; Python is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with configuration management and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, ELK, Splunk).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of security best practices, system hardening, identity management, and vulnerability management.
• Experience with backup, recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).
• Linux certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, LPIC, or CompTIA Linux+ are considered an advantage.
• Professional English proficiency (minimum B2).
• Based in Portugal and available to work in a hybrid model
