Job summary

Experimental is opening Hotel Infante Sagres restaurant in Porto's historic city centre in 2026. We are seeking a proactive Waiter to deliver warm, seamless hospitality from seating to farewell, and to guide guests through our menu and drinks while respecting dietary requirements.

You'll work with a passionate kitchen, bar and floor team, maintaining knowledge of ingredients and allergens, and ensuring impeccable service during evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a waiter or in a similar role.
• Proactive, autonomous and adaptable with strong hospitality mindset.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

ABOUT HOTEL INFANTE SAGRES RESTAURANT

Opening at the end of 2026 in the heart of Porto's historic city centre, Hotel Infante Sagres' restaurant will be the signature dining destination of the city's first five-star hotel.

Designed by interior designer Dorothée Meilichzon, the restaurant will offer a warm, elegant and joyful setting where Experimental's spirit of hospitality meets the richness of Portuguese cuisine and products.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Waiter, you will be responsible for delivering a warm and seamless experience to our guests. Your main responsibilities will include:

Welcome guests with warmth and look after them throughout their experience, from seating to farewell;

Present the menu and drinks list, make recommendations and adapt to each guest’s tastes and dietary requirements;

Take orders accurately, pass them on to the kitchen and bar, and handle bills and payments;

Serve food and drinks with care, following our service standards;

Maintain excellent knowledge of our menu, ingredients, allergens and drinks, and stay curious about new dishes and trends;

Set up the floor before service and perform end-of-service tasks: clearing, cleaning and resetting tables, and getting everything ready for the next service;

Keep all work areas in optimal condition (cleanliness, maintenance and functionality);

Work closely with the kitchen, bar and floor teams to ensure a smooth service

ABOUT YOU

You have proven experience as a Waiter or in a similar role.

You are proactive, autonomous, and adaptable, able to manage priorities efficiently, and have an excellent sense of hospitality and customer service.

You communicate easily with both teams and guests, using appropriate and professional communication skills in Portuguese and English.

You are attentive to detail and always focused on guest needs.

Knowledge of Micros systems would be an advantage.

Finally, you are available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
