Job summary

Experimental Porto is opening La Compagnie Porto, a new wine bar in Porto. Under the Head Sommelier, you will assist with wine service, guest engagement, and maintaining high standards of service and presentation.

Ideal candidates have proven experience in a similar role, strong organization, and excellent interpersonal skills in Portuguese and English. Knowledge of Micros systems is a plus, and evening/weekend shifts are required.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Under the supervision of the Head Sommelier, you will be responsible for:

• Organizing the setup of the service areas and dining room according to the restaurant's standards;
• Welcoming guests with a warm, professional and attentive attitude throughout their experience;
• Advising guests with your knowledge of the wine list and the small plates menu;
• Performing service according to professional standards: presenting menus, taking orders, serving food and beverages, clearing and resetting tables;
• Maintaining your assigned tables and service area to the highest standards of cleanliness, organization and presentation;
• Following and respecting the aesthetic and service standards defined by management, including grooming and table setup;

ABOUT YOU

• You have proven experience in a similar role.
• You have an excellent professional appearance, and you are dynamic and motivated.
• You possess strong organizational skills, work efficiently, have a good team spirit, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• You are attentive to detail and always focused on guest needs.
• You communicate easily with both teams and guests, using appropriate and professional communication skills in Portuguese and English.
• Knowledge of Micros systems is a plus.
• Finally, you are available to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
