Job summary

Critical Manufacturing is seeking an experienced UI/UX Lead to drive user experience strategy and lead our design team in building MES and industrial automation software. You will guide a high-performing group of UI/UX designers and researchers, translating complex industrial data into intuitive interfaces for shop floor operators and plant managers.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional UI/UX product design in enterprise software.
2+ years leading design teams.
Expert in solving complex visual and functional information architectures, high-density data visualization, and workflow simplification.
Deep understanding of operator workflows and shop-floor dashboards.
Advanced mastery of design systems, prototyping tools, and AI for UI/UX.
Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods for industrial/enterprise settings.
Excellent communication with engineering teams, executives, and plant supervisors.
Mentoring designers and translating raw data into intuitive experiences.
Excellent spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

Lead & Mentor: Manage a team of UI/UX designers and researchers; set expectations and drive skill development.
Resource & Capacity Management: Allocate design work across MES modules; hire and onboard UI/UX talent.
Establish user experience frameworks for shop floor conditions and operator efficiency.
Scale and maintain a Design System optimized for high-density data and tactile interfaces.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Solution Architects, and Engineers to define roadmaps.
Conduct contextual research including plant floor observations and operator interviews.
Ensure UI/UX workflows support industry regulations, and include audit trails and electronic signatures.
