Job summary

Lever, Inc. in Portugal is seeking a hands-on Team Lead, Human Data Operations for Vision, Image & Video. You will lead a team of AI Tutors responsible for labeling, reviewing, and evaluating visual data, and own quality, delivery, and guidelines.

Collaborate with data, engineering, and operations to translate model requirements into labeling strategies; develop training materials and benchmarks; drive KPI-based improvements; foster high-performance culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with data quality metrics, annotation workflows, and guideline-driven processes.
• Familiarity with Notion, Axiom, JIRA, Linear or equivalent tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to build trust with stakeholders.
• Experience leading small teams in data labeling, annotation, quality assurance, or related operations.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality and delivery for assigned human data projects, ensuring accuracy and high-quality output at scale.
• Lead, coach, and performance-manage a team of AI Tutors with feedback and development plans.
• Participate in labeling and review activities to maintain quality standards.
• Manage guideline adherence, taxonomy processes, and QA workflows.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase efficiency and throughput.
• Track team performance with KPIs and dashboards (quality metrics, throughput, send-back rates).
• Develop training materials, exercises, and certification benchmarks; oversee certifications.
• Collaborate with Human Data Managers, Team Leads, and Engineering to translate requirements into labeling strategies.
• Foster a high-performance culture and support performance or disciplinary processes as needed.
• Document outcomes, risks, and results; propose process improvements and provide status updates.
• Represent the needs of AI Tutors and promote collaboration across the Human Data organization.
