Job summary

Michael Page on behalf of an international industrial company seeks a seasoned Financial Controller to lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and deliver high-quality statutory and management reporting. You will guide a finance team, ensure IFRS/GAAP compliance, strengthen internal controls, and drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash planning.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior leaders, ERP optimization, and continuous process improvements in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold an academic degree in accounting, finance, economics, management, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial control, audit, or similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, statutory reporting, internal controls and close processes.
• Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (SAGE, SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
• Fluent English; Portuguese and/or German are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes with timely, accurate results.
• Prepare and review statutory and management reporting, reconciliations, journals, and schedules.
• Manage and develop the finance team to ensure accuracy and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, tax obligations, and policies.
• Maintain robust internal controls, documentation, testing, remediation and monitoring.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to findings promptly.
• Oversee fixed assets, inventory accounting, standard costing, provisions and intercompany transactions.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning with variance analysis.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital; collaborate with leaders on financial guidance.
• Drive process improvements, ERP/tooling enhancements, and automation.
• Contribute to strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives as required.
