Datadog in hybrid workplaces is seeking a Staff Engineer to shape how our Kubernetes fleet scales for AI and cloud-native workloads, across AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. You will influence capacity orchestration and platform architecture while solving infrastructure challenges that support rapid growth.

You will design go-based systems, drive cross-team collaboration, and lead capacity management initiatives that ensure regionally balanced compute availability for our engineering teams.

Qualificações

• Significant experience designing and operating large-scale Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
• Strong programming skills, ideally in Go.
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Strong systems mindset and capacity/scheduling problem-solving abilities.
• Proven track record of technical leadership across teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the technical direction of capacity management and workload placement for the Kubernetes platform across 100,000+ VMs and multiple clouds.
• Design and build systems that optimize scheduling and deployment across regions while balancing capacity, reliability, and performance.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to evolve multi-region, multi-cloud capacity orchestration as the company scales.
• Develop production software in Go to enhance Kubernetes platform capabilities, automation, and operations.
• Use capacity signals to inform infrastructure decisions and forecast growth.
