Job summary

Dremio is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own substantial connectivity work and drive multiple features across client drivers, protocols, and distributed services. You will design scalable systems, mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional teams while delivering high-quality production code.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, deep knowledge of Java/C++, Rust or Go, and a passion for reliable data access across environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and debugging APIs, protocols, client libraries, drivers, or distributed services.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, concurrency, asynchronous programming, networking, and failure handling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to influence without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Own substantial connectivity work from definition through delivery and handoff.
• Define milestones, acceptance measures, dependencies, estimates and risks for complex goals.
• Design scalable, maintainable systems and explain trade-offs across drivers, protocols and client libraries.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex failures across client/server boundaries.
