Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking a seasoned Operations/SRE professional to ensure the availability and performance of our analytics platforms. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems across on-prem and Azure, with strong emphasis on automation and incident management.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of experience, expertise in Windows Server and databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL), and hands-on cloud/container skills (AWS/Azure, Docker/Kubernetes).

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Operations, SRE, or similar role managing production environments at scale.
• Strong Windows Server administration, on-prem and Azure.
• Experience managing SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containers, and observability tools.
• Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for ops workflows and CI/CD.
• Excellent analytical and incident-management capabilities with RCA focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of production systems, with focus on analytics platforms.
• Proactively monitor services, investigate incidents, outages, and performance issues; perform RCA for permanent corrective actions.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments and manage databases (SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL) across on-prem and Azure infra.
• Design, implement, and optimize automation for operational tasks, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines using scripting languages.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and platform teams to support releases and platform improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service reliability for business-critical services.

What will you do?

• Ensure the high availability, performance, and reliability of production systems, with a specific focus on analytics platforms.
• Proactively monitor services, investigate incidents, outages, and performance issues, performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for permanent corrective actions.
• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments and manage databases (Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL) across on-premises and Azure infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and optimize automation for operational tasks, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines using scripting languages.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and platform teams to support application releases and ongoing platform improvements.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service reliability for business-critical services.

What are we looking for?

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a similar role, with proven experience managing business-critical production environments at scale.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, including on-premises datacentres and Microsoft Azure-hosted infrastructure.
• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL databases.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Solid scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for operational workflows and CI/CD pipeline optimization.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, coupled with a structured approach to incident management and root cause analysis.
