Job summary

Arcesium in Lisbon seeks a professional to own end-to-end portfolio accounting and reconciliations for complex client funds across asset classes. You will perform daily reconciliations, settle trades, explain P&L movements, finalize GAV/NAV, and collaborate with pricing, middle office, and technology teams across NY, India, and local offices.

You will engage with clients on daily operations, drive process efficiencies, and contribute to a high-performance global operations team.

Qualifications

• MBA/MS in Finance or CFA equivalent.
• 1–3 years of fund accounting and operations experience.
• Experience with listed and OTC instruments across multiple geographies.
• Attention to detail and drive for process efficiencies.
• Strong MS Excel and client communication skills.

Your Team

The Trade Accounting and Operations (TAO) group is responsible for various post-trade activities for hedge funds and is an integral part of our global operations. The core daily objectives include ensuring post trade activities happen in a timely manner and record an accurate view of positions, cash and P&L in the books. The team works closely with counterparties, fund administrators and investment managers to achieve this and the primary activities for the same include daily street reconciliations, settlements, P/L reconciliations, admin reconciliations and fund accounting (GAV / NAV preparation), Investor Accounting (incl. Fee calculations) and Regulatory reporting.

What You’ll Do

• Own end-to-end portfolio accounting and reconciliation operations for complex client funds across diverse asset classes including equities, fixed income, derivatives (rates, credits, swaps), currency, crypto, and OTC products.
• Perform daily reconciliations of trades, positions, cash, MTMs, interest, expenses, and corporate actions against counterparties (prime brokers, custodians, administrators, ISDA counterparties) using the Arcesium platform, ensuring timely settlements and accurate portfolio views.
• Investigate and explain P&L movements to investment managers or other internal teams and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve identified P&L outages.
• Finalize GAV/NAV of funds, recording all accounting adjustments and resolving any breaks with the counterparties and administrators.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with pricing, middle office, collateral management, and technology teams to resolve breaks, ensure proper accounting treatment of lifecycle events, and support special projects, bespoke reporting, and UAT testing.
• Engage directly with clients on daily and monthly operations, addressing queries related to portfolio accounting movements and coordinating resolution of identified outages.
• Work within a global team structure, partnering with colleagues across NY, India, and local offices to deliver seamless financial operations.

What You’ll Need

• An MBA/MS (Finance) / CFA any another equivalent qualification
• 1-3 years of work experience in fund accounting and operations for listed and OTC instruments
• Experience working with multiple listed and OTC financial instruments spanning across multiple geographies
• Attention to detail and drive to achieve process efficiencies,
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and coordinate with different teams across multiple geographies
• Working Proficiency in MS Excel
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage in client discussions around business processes.
