InnoTech in Lisbon is seeking a seasoned SQL Server Database Administrator to manage production databases and Azure-based services. You will handle incidents, automate tasks with PowerShell, and optimize performance across environments.

Qualificações

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
• Strong experience with Always-On Availability Groups, FCI, and T-SQL scripting.
• Experience with Azure services: Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Pipelines, Monitor, and Alerts.
• Excellent English written and spoken communication; EU work permit or CPLP nationality required.

Responsabilidades

• Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases in production, including HA architectures and Azure services.
• Own database incidents, troubleshoot issues, document root cause analyses.
• Support production releases via Azure DevOps and UrbanCode Deploy; ensure reliable deployments.
• Improve database performance through query tuning and execution plan analysis.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to drive improvements.

Your Mission Will Be

• Managing Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments, including highly available architectures and Azure-integrated services;


• Taking ownership of database incidents, troubleshooting complex issues, implementing solutions, and documenting root cause analysis;


• Supporting production releases through Azure DevOps and UrbanCode Deploy, while ensuring reliable deployment and validation processes;


• Improving database performance through query tuning, T-SQL optimization, and execution plan analysis;


• Driving continuous improvement across database operations, security, documentation, monitoring, and collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.

You Will Need

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments, with strong experience in incident management, support, and performance optimization;


• Solid knowledge of SQL Server installation and configuration, Always-On Availability Groups, FCI, T-SQL scripting, PowerShell automation, and execution plan analysis;


• Strong and practical experience with Azure services, particularly Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, Azure Monitor, Azure Alerts, and Azure Event Hub;


• Professional English at C1 level, both written and spoken, with the ability to work independently in complex production environments;


• CPLP nationality or an EU work permit is required to facilitate employment.

Would Be Awesome If You Have

• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other database technologies, with a generalizing-specialist mindset and willingness to work across different platforms;


• Knowledge of storage account management, UrbanCode Deploy, Jira, and DBeaver;


• Experience in regulated environments, particularly financial services, would be a strong advantage;


• Azure Database Administrator certification or relevant Microsoft SQL Server certifications;


• BSc or MSc in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
