Iterable is seeking a Software Engineer II in Lisbon with 3+ years of experience to build scalable web applications. You will work largely remotely, contribute to production-ready services, and collaborate across teams.

Proficiency in Scala/Java, Elasticsearch, and Postgres is preferred, with English fluency and EU work authorization required. The role offers a competitive base, equity, and benefits, with a strong tech stack including Docker/Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS.

How you will make an impact

As a Software Engineer II at Iterable, you'll complete smaller projects autonomously, with regular oversight on new problems or undefined projects. You will prioritize activities with limited guidance while understanding how your tasks contribute to the team's project goals. You will proactively seek guidance from team members or managers when an answer is not known, form opinions while seeking input from a diverse group of team members, and learn to proactively anticipate small roadblocks to accomplishing tasks.

We are looking for people who have

• 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience building production-ready, scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (ideally Scala and/or Java)
• Experience with Elasticsearch and/or other relevant technologies like Postgres.
• Desire to work in a highly remote/distributed but collaborative environment. (Iterable has offices in San Francisco, Denver, New York and Lisbon but the vast majority of Engineering has chosen to work remotely)
• Willingness to take on-call responsibilities.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Legally authorized to work in the EU.

The base salary range for this position in Lisbon, Portugal, is €55,000 – €68,000 per year (gross). This range is provided in anticipation of the requirements of the EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970), which EU member states are implementing into national law, and reflects the expected compensation at the start of employment for this role.The final offer will be determined by your experience, qualifications, and performance throughout the selection process, while ensuring alignment with our internal equity principles.
