Farfetch Limited is seeking a Software Engineer in Porto to build world-class applications using a modern tech stack. You will contribute to an end-to-end e-commerce platform, work with a growth-focused team, and apply best practices in software development.

The role emphasizes scalable microservices, hands-on design decisions, and collaboration across teams, with a focus on learning and professional growth.

Qualificações

• Proficient in object-oriented languages (C# or Java).
• Experience with unit tests and/or integration tests.
• Committed to code quality and modern practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Knowledge of REST APIs.
• Experience with NoSQL is a plus.
• Agile methodologies experience is a plus.
• Able to make autonomous technical decisions.
• Interest in large-scale systems and solving complex problems.

Responsabilidades

• Evolve the e-commerce platform and define its future.
• Collaborate with product teams to evolve capabilities, ensure performance and scalability.
• Expand microservices architecture and create new services.
• Work with state-of-the-art tech (.Net, SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Mentor and support growth of team members.
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure technical feasibility of projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Evolve our e-commerce platform, defining its future
• Work with a product development team evolving the platform capabilities and ensuring performance and scalability;
• Expand our microservices architecture, creating new services
• Evolve your technical capabilities to the next level while using state-of-the-art technologies (.Net, SQL Server, MongoDB, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes etc).
• Mentor and support the growth of other team members
• Cooperate with other teams to assure the technical feasibility of the scope of the projects.

WHO YOU ARE

• An expert in object oriented languages (C# or Java)
• Knowledgeable of unit tests and/or integration tests
• Passionate about code quality
• Stay on top of all of all best practices of modern software development
• Knowledgeable of SQL and experience using relational databases
• Knowledgeable of REST APIs
• Experienced in NoSQL databases and SOA architecture is a plus
• A professional with experience working with agile methodologies is also a plus
• Autonomous and able to make important technical decisions that will have a positive impact on our platform
• Interested in large-scale systems
• Passionate about solving complex problems.
