FARFETCH Porto is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our Integrations team. Sit at the heart of our business, ensuring a seamless and reliable experience for every customer as you learn and grow with the latest tech stack.

You'll work with a seasoned team on design and implementation of features that impact checkout and payments, while embracing Agile methods and a strong focus on code quality, performance, and security.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM field.
• Proficiency in object-oriented languages (C#) with solid OOP and design patterns knowledge.
• Basic REST API understanding and experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Experience with source control (Git, TFS) and CI/CD concepts.
• Familiarity with non-relational databases and messaging queues (Kafka).

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with a seasoned dev team to design and implement new features for checkout and payments.
• Maintain and improve existing services, ensuring clean, efficient, scalable code.
• Stay current with backend/web technologies, architecture principles and patterns.
• Learn about performance, resilience and security considerations in production.
• Follow the full development lifecycle with emphasis on software quality.
• Work in an Agile environment focusing on delivery and continuous improvement.
• Grow technical capabilities using .NET, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra and Kafka.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join our Integrations team. This is a unique opportunity to sit at the heart of our business, ensuring a seamless and reliable experience for every customer.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work side-by-side with a team of seasoned developers on design and implement new features that directly enhance the customer checkout and payment experience, gaining hands-on mentorship and exposure to industry-standard engineering practices.
• Improve and maintain our existing services, ensuring our code remains clean, efficient, and scalable as we grow.
• Stay up to speed with backend and web technologies, software architecture principles and design patterns.
• Learn about performance, resilience and security.
• Understand the full development lifecycle with an emphasis on software quality processes.
• Work in an Agile environment, focusing on delivery/commitment and continuous improvement.
• Evolve your technical capabilities to the next level while using recent technologies and trends (.NET, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Cassandra and Kafka).

WHO YOU ARE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related STEM field.
• Knowledgeable in object-oriented languages (C#) with an understanding of OOP principles, design patterns and data structures.
• Basic understanding in REST APIs and unit testing frameworks.
• Knowledgeable using source control (Git, TFS).
• Basic understanding of CI/CD methodologies.
• Basic understanding of non-relational databases or search engines.
• Basic understanding of messaging queue systems, i. e. Kafka.
• A person who is passionate about code quality and understands the value of testing strategies to improve the product quality.
• Interested in working with Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
• A person that want to stays on top of all the best practices of modern software development.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English, ensuring effective communication across the team.
