FARFETCH is seeking a Mid-level Platform Engineer in Porto, Portugal, to drive innovation and maintain critical technologies for their e-commerce platform. The role requires strong programming skills and familiarity with cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.

The Role

Mid-level Platform Engineer to drive innovation and impact the reliability, performance, and scalability of Farfetch's technology. Requires a DevOps mindset with passion for automation, scalability, and infrastructure reliability. Co‑responsible for maintaining several critical technologies that ensure the success of Farfetch’s business.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, implement, and manage cloud-native infrastructure and tooling to empower development teams.
• Build self‑service capabilities, abstracting complex infrastructure layers, and promote engineering autonomy.
• Operate and maintain a wide range of infrastructure components, including Linux and Kubernetes systems, using automated processes and pipelines.
• Identify opportunities for increased scalability, cost efficiency, and reliability, contributing to continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver solutions that accelerate their productivity.

Who You Are

• Graduated or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong interest in designing, analysing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Develop using programming languages such as Python or Golang.
• Familiar with the principles of the software development lifecycle and infrastructure-as-code concepts.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines and comfortable working with tools such as Jenkins, Git, ArgoCD.
• Hands‑on experience with containerised environments and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong interest in one or more of the following domains:
  • Cloud infrastructure provisioning and configuration management (Azure, Terraform, SaltStack).
  • Networking: traffic management, load balancing, CDN, DNS (HAProxy, Kong, Cloudflare, firewall).
  • Software development lifecycle automation (Jenkins, ArgoCD, Artifactory).
• Security‑first mindset and interest in compliance achievement.
• Proactive, creative, and a great team player.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
