Job Title: Software Developer (Delphi)

Type: Full-Time

Start Date: Immediate

Job Description

Reporting to the Team Lead of Core, the Software Developer will design, document, develop, maintain and support server-side applications and services within the Connexall product suite. The role involves creating scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions while adhering to our IEC 62304 SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), ISO-13485 QMS, and ISO 14971 risk management frameworks. The successful candidate will collaborate across departments to ensure seamless integration of backend services with frontend applications and other system components.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle, working to help Connexall meet its corporate goals and objectives.
  2. Design, document, and implement backend solutions, focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  3. Develop graphical end-user applications and tools as well as back-end applications/services as well as maintain existing ones.
  4. Build and maintain APIs and other service interfaces for communication with frontend applications.
  5. Ensure proper integration of backend solutions with existing systems.
  6. Write high-quality, testable code following industry best practices.
  7. Conduct performance analysis and optimize backend systems to meet stringent requirements.
  8. Monitor and improve system performance, security, and scalability.
  9. Create and maintain development documentation, adhering to our ISO-13485 quality management system.
  10. Work closely with QA (Quality Assurance), to track bug reports, debug code, develop test plans and close issues.
  11. Work with our Technical Support and Implementation departments to help troubleshoot and resolve client issues as needed.
  12. Identify and provide recommendations on solutions for gaps in business processes and systems.
  13. Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  1. Fluency in written and spoken English.
  2. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required.
  3. Professional experience developing backend applications using Delphi or .NET.
  4. Strong understanding of software architecture patterns, including microservices.
  5. Experience with SQL relational databases and syntax (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL) and proficiency in writing efficient queries.
  6. Experience developing software applying all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  7. Familiarity with secure coding best practices (e.g., OWASP, CERT).
  8. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  9. Experience in or knowledge of the Healthcare industry considered an asset.
  10. Experience with .NET, APIs and Microservices is considered an asset.
  11. Experience with Building Automation (e.g., OPC, BACnet, KNX, Opentherm, MQTT, Thread) is considered an asset.
  12. Knowledge of asynchronous programming and concurrency in backend systems.
  13. Experience using formal source control management processes and tools (e.g., GIT).
  14. Experience working with regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 62304, ISO 14971) considered an asset.
  15. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously under tight timelines and schedules.
  16. Ability to work effectively, individually or collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, environment.
  17. Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
