Job summary

Progressive Engineering is seeking a Site Construction Manager / Site Coordinator to lead on-site construction activities for data center and critical infrastructure projects in Portugal. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage schedules, ensure safety, quality, and timely handovers, and liaise with clients and suppliers to drive project success.

Qualifications

• Degree or Higher Technical Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience coordinating construction projects in industrial, electrical, infrastructure or data center environments.
• Knowledge of MV & LV electrical distribution systems.
• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Data Centers, HVAC, cabling, containment systems, racks, communications, and space management.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Health & Safety mindset and commitment to safe site operations.
• English (minimum B2) written and verbal communication.
• Native Portuguese speaker.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring delivery from material reception through handover.
• Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers, and all project stakeholders.
• Coordinate daily site operations, resources, schedules, and technical teams across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, propose mitigation actions, and support decision-making with the Project Manager and Technical Manager.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on site.
• Oversee quality, timelines, logistics, and construction milestones to guarantee successful project execution.

• Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring successful project delivery from material reception through to final handover.
• Act as the main point of contact between clients, contractors, suppliers, and all project stakeholders.
• Coordinate daily site operations, resources, schedules, and technical teams across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, propose mitigation actions, and support decision-making alongside the Project Manager and Technical Manager.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and promote a strong safety culture on site.
• Oversee quality, timelines, logistics, and construction milestones to guarantee successful project execution.

Required Experience

• Degree or Higher Technical Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience managing and coordinating construction projects within industrial, electrical, infrastructure, or data center environments.
• Knowledge of MV & LV electrical distribution systems.
• Experience working with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Valuable experience in Cloud Infrastructure, Data Centers, HVAC, cabling, containment systems, racks, communications, and space management.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong Health & Safety mindset and commitment to safe site operations.
• English (minimum B2 level) with strong written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Native Portuguese speaker.

Conditions

Location: Sines, Portugal.
100% site-based position.
40 hours/week with occasional overtime and weekend work depending on project requirements.
